Yes. However, we must be satisfied that your family member or friend approves of you doing so. We need to see your relative’s or friend’s ID along with their written confirmation that you can sell the car on their behalf. We also require two forms of your own ID along with the documents for the car. Payment will be made into the bank account of your friend or relative as long as the bank account details match those on their ID.
Yes. And we'll do our best to make it as easy as possible because we understand you may be going through a difficult time. In order to sell the car you'll need power of attorney or probate (an instruction in the will to say that you have inherited the vehicle). We need to see your relative’s death certificate along with your ID and the documents for the car.
Yes. We’ll need to see your ID plus a letter of authorisation signed by a director of the company. We'll also need the company’s bank account details e.g. a paying in book or bank statement, along with the documents for the car.
Yes we can. We will pay the outstanding balance directly to your finance company with our company debit card when we collect the car. We'll pay the remaining balance straight into your bank account by Faster Payment so your finance will be paid off and you’ll have the money for your car. The whole process will be even quicker if your finance company provides you with a settlement letter or figure beforehand.
If more money is owed on your car than the finance settlement figure (your car’s valuation is less than the settlement amount) you’ll just need to pay us the difference by debit or credit card when we come to inspect and collect the car.
Yes we do. If you leave your private plate on the car, the buying process or the valuation won't be affected. Should you want to to keep your private plate, you should retain or transfer it before we buy your car. To find out how visit the DVLA website
